Jason Jr. was built after ARGO discovered the wreck of the TITANIC. The goal was to deploy the small remotely piloted vehicle (ROV) from the front of a small manned submarine (ALVIN), and get it close to the wreck to explore the wreck up-close (artist concept based on video and slides taken by ARGO and JASON) and from the inside.
