JASON Project

The JASON Project

I was part of the Deep Submergence Laboratory at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution during the 1984 to 1990 hey-days when the JASON Project was conceived. As part of that project, UW robots have explored the mediterranean for sunken roman shipwrecks, the Northamerican lakes for civil war shipwrecks, the underwater and above-water mysteries of the Galapagos, and other missions undertaken on a bi-annual basis. These missions are brodcast live into museums and other special sites for a variety of audiences eager in telepresence experiences (especially kids).

A great intro to the JASON Project can also be glanced!
