TRESTLE: Autonomous Assembly by Teams of Coordinated Robots



The TRESTLE project has benefited from several previous projects:


The primary objective of the Distributed Robot Architectures (DIRA) project is to develop fundamental capabilities that enable multiple, distributed, heterogeneous robots to coordinate tasks that cannot be accomplished by the robots individually.


The Skyworker Project seeks to create a team of mobile manipulators capable of walking over extensive space solar power stations and performing the assembly, inspection, and maintenance tasks necessary for operating them outside the effective range of astronaut construction crews.
