TechBridgeWorld
The TechBridgeWorld initiative facilitates collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University and developing communities around the world to design and implement creative technological solutions. Lack of technical advancement has led to a substantial digital divide between developed and developing communities that further impedes progress in these communities. Technology can combat poverty and aid development in many ways. Telemedicine can aid healthcare; robots can rid post-war communities of land mines; sensing and computing technology can help improve safety and quality in industry. Introducing technology can enhance suitable and sustainable development in these communities.
