The Girls of Steel Robotics Team actively fundraises throughout the year in order to meet our expenses.   Any amount you can provide will help!

This year the crowdfunding campaign through Carnegie Mellon University will run between November 5th and November 30th. Here’s the link to our site on the crowdfunding page where you can check out our video and read about the team. Check back often to view all the team updates.   Contact us at if you have any questions about the team or about making a donation.  We specifically aim to raise funds to cover travel expenses for our upcoming competitions in 2019.

Other ways you can help

We have additional expenses related to building the robot for competition and running outreach. For example a roboRIO (like the “brain” of the robot) costs us $435, and we used two for the two new updated chassis project workshop kits.   The first FIRST Robotics Competition regional registration fee is $5000 and the fee for the second regional is $4000; we have registered to attend two regionals this year: The Greater Pittsburgh Regional at California University of Pennsylvania’s Convocation Center and the Miami Valley Regional at the Nutter Center in Dayton Ohio.

In addition to funds for the registration fees and robot materials, we need funds for mentor travel, cargo van rental, and more.  Again, any amount you are able to provide helps!

Thank you!
